Doce means sweet in Portuguese and perfectly represents our fruitiest, smoothest oil. Made from Galega, one of Portugal's oldest and rarest native varietals, it is endlessly versatile.  Use it generously to cook, to add a finishing sweetness to salads or dishes, or just mop it up with fresh bread.

This year's Doce comes from a beautiful farm in the Northern Alentejo, where Bernardo Marchante and his family have been protecting these trees for four generations.  As other farmers chase high-yielding olives, Bernardo knows Galega is a flavor worth protecting

Wildly Virgin olive oils are made from a single producer, a single grove, and a single harvest. Nothing blended, nothing to hide.

Producer

Fourth-generation, but far from traditional. Bernardo studied electrical engineering before taking over his family's hilltop groves in the Alentejo, and he's brought a modern eye to an ancient craft — including computer vision to manage his livestock. What hasn't changed is the family's devotion to Galega, one of Portugal's oldest native varietals. Increasingly rare as producers chase higher-yielding alternatives, Galega produces the naturally sweet, fruit-forward oil that defines Doce. For Bernardo, it's a flavor worth protecting.
